Need sustainability inspiration?

We love a good news story and were excited to see a bunch of Queensland companies and organisations recognised in the Banksia Awards:

  • BlockTexx worked out how to recycle polyester/ cotton clothing

  • Gina’s Table pioneered freeze dried fruit snacks that use supermarket rejected fruit to create unique nutritious snacks

  • The Brisbane Chamber of Commerce ecoBiz program helped avoid: - - 12,077 tCO2e carbon emissions – equivalent to 3,000 passenger vehicles driving on roads for a year
    - 2,577GJ of energy – equivalent to 3,160 households’ annual electricity usage
    - 48,151kL of water – equivalent to 20 Olympic-sized pools of water
    - 1,035t of waste – equivalent to 14,000 wheelie bins of waste
    while saving $3,151,060 in costs

& importantly for me helping the Little Ship Club at One Mile on Straddie sail to a more sustainable future

We hope these folks inspire you to build your legacy, with insights from the 36th Banksia Award winners, and we’re especially looking forward to working with the Chambers of Commerce to bring new ideas for sustainability focussed businesses to Queensland as part of our work.
